No. Rev1 Voice works with the voice typing in the keyboard you already use, like Gboard. Tap the keyboard's microphone and talk as usual.
Android only lets an app see and fix text you dictate into other apps through the Accessibility service. Rev1 Voice uses it for that one job: it reads the text box you are dictating into, sends only the dictated words for cleanup, and ignores typed text and password fields.
While you dictate, a small pill floats above the keyboard. The wand cleans the message. The plane cleans it and then sends it. If clean when the mic stops is on, the message is cleaned automatically when you stop talking.
A Pro feature for typed or swipe-typed messages. Pause after typing and the Rev1 pill appears. Tap the wand to see the polished version, then tap the check to use it or X to keep yours. Typed text is only sent when you tap the pill.
Tap the Undo arrow that appears after a cleanup. It puts back exactly what the keyboard typed. Tap again to redo.
Open Rev1 Voice and tap a word in Last dictation, or open Your words and add it. Teach it how the keyboard mishears it and how it should be spelled. It is fixed every time after, even offline.
Install the Windows app, then in the phone app go to Settings > Account > Link a computer and enter the 6-digit code on your PC. Hold Ctrl+Win to talk, let go to type the clean text.
That message comes from the keyboard's own speech service, not Rev1 Voice. Check your connection and try again. If the pill does not appear, make sure Rev1 Voice is turned on in Settings > Accessibility.
Rev1 Voice turns itself off in Android Auto so nothing changes while you drive.
